Karen Henshall

Accountant / Payroll Administrator

Karen is our longest serving member of Powell & Powell, having worked for the company for over 30 years.  Having started out as a junior she has had many different roles throughout her time with the firm, holding the post of Senior Accountant for many years and culminating in her appointment as a Company Director in 2020.  

Karen says:  My early education prioritised numbers, equations, statistics and computers, resulting in passing my maths GCSE a year early. Numbers have a beauty and logic to them that I still find fascinating.  My higher education gravitated to business studies, so becoming an accountant was almost a forgone conclusion.  I am AAT qualified and ACCA part qualified, with over 30 years’ experience in practice.

My daily activities vary greatly, including all forms of accountancy work and software, training and report development.  My specialty areas include payroll, pensions, construction industry, solicitors, estate agents and charities.

Although working on my own is great, I truly believe ‘there is no I in team’, so love working with like-minded, goal orientated, people.  It takes a team to successfully run a business, and I believe we have a great team at Powell & Powell, who are always willing to help meet the goals of both our firm and our clients.  I still love my work and am looking forward to our future.
